You know that feeling when you’re sitting by a crackling campfire but your backside doesn’t have the same warm glow as your frontside?

Is your butt always cold no matter how superior your campfire game is?

I can build a pretty sweet campfire. But the only way to warm my butt is to stand up and point it towards the flames.

*Cue dad joke about farting into the campfire.*

At least that’s how it used to be. BUT NOT ANYMORE.

I don’t have this problem now that I have a heated camping chair.

No more cold butt. No more standing in front of a campfire rotating to warm all sides of my body.

JUST PURE BLISS.

Now I can focus more on devouring half a dozen s’mores, and not feel like I’m sitting on a brass toilet seat in an Eskimo’s outhouse.

And the best part? You can enjoy this feeling too!

Check out the best heated camping chairs for camping below! #1 is my favorite, but you should also check out #4!

The MacSports Chair is like that solid B-side track you discover on your favorite album.

It’s not a headline hit, but it’s got a rhythm and comfort that you can’t help but appreciate.

However, the MacSports chair comes with a caveat just like a B-side track that doesn’t quite make it to the top of the charts.

It’s just not quite as good.

There are other chairs on this list that also don’t come with a battery, but we feel like they offer some kind of feature that outweighs this downside.

If you’re drawn towards the MacSports, we think you’re better off with our Editor’s Choice Slys Heated Camp Chair. It’s a similar design but it comes with a warranty AND it’s cheaper.

How We Tested, Reviewed, And Rated These Heated Camping Chairs

We take product research and testing VERY SERIOUSLY.

We spent countless hours finding the best heated camping chairs and taking them outdoors to put them to the test.

We do it so you don’t have to. You can rest assured knowing that you’re purchasing the best of the best.

First, we spend a lot of time on the computer. We SCOUR the depths of the internet for the best brands and most highly rated heated chairs.

Next, we either buy the camp chair or work with the brand to get it for a discount (don’t worry – we remain unbiased no matter how we procure the product).

Then we ACTUALLY take all the heated chairs on a camping trip. Did we feel a little ridiculous taking SO MANY chairs with us? Yes, but it’s all in the name of testing these chairs first-hand!

We tested every aspect of each chair throughout the next few camping trips. This includes:

  • how comfortable the chair felt,
  • if the fabric repels or sticks to dirt and debris,
  • the overall quality of the materials,
  • how warm or hot the chair felt,
  • battery run time,
  • battery recharge time,
  • and overall perceived happiness with the product.

WHEW, THAT’S A LOT.

Finally, we assembled all our thoughts into this article. We try to make it easy to read and user-friendly.

How to Choose a Heated Camping Chair – A Buyer’s Guide

We’re here to help if you find yourself staring at the chairs above, not knowing which one to pick.

We’ve assembled this buyer’s guide to break down some of the features we looked at during testing.

We hope it further explains the different features and which chairs stand out for each. That way you can know what to look for in an AWESOME chair that best suits your needs.

Feel free to contact us or leave a comment below if you need more assistance or if you picked a chair and have any feedback you want to share!

Max Temperature

Every chair on this list has heating coils that warm up. That’s not news.

They all have three heat settings. That’s nothing special.

So what sets these chairs apart?

The maximum temperature.

This is one of the biggest factors we took into consideration during our testing. Because the whole point of a heated chair is for it to get hot.

Our Editor’s Choice Slsy chair has a maximum temperature of 149°F. That’s the hottest max temp on this list (hence why it’s #1).

In the table above, you can see the max temperature of each of the heated chairs from this list.

Even though temperature played an important role in our decision, it’s not make or break for a chair to have a lower temperature.

The lower temperature chairs (like the Realead and SunnyFeel) have their features where they shine, so it’s still worth considering them depending on what you’re looking for in a heated camp chair.

Heating Zones

It’s not just how hot the coils get. But the surface area they cover as well.

The only chair that has one heating coil is the SunnyFeel Heated Chair. We went ahead and included it in the list above because of its cool rocking chair design.

But otherwise I preferred chairs that had two heating zones – one on the lower back and one on the seat.

All the other chairs on this list include at least two heating zones organized in this way.

There wasn’t a clear winner in this category. But know that two heating zones are better than one.

Power Source & Battery Life

All the chairs on this list performed surprisingly well when it came to battery life. We are talking 8-10 hours for all the chairs. Which is IMPRESSIVE.

So how are these chairs different?

Whether or not it comes with a portable power bank. BUT this can be an upside or downside considering how you look at it.

You can say that it makes your life more difficult by having to purchase a battery pack yourself (make sure you factor this into the cost).

Or you can say that the POWER IS IN YOUR HANDS. You get to pick what size battery you purchase and the brand as well.

You could even use one that you already have.

Choose a good brand with a high capacity battery. That way it can be used to charge your chair and your phone. We recommend this Anker Portable Power Bank.

Note: Use the table above to see which chairs come with a battery.

Best Value for Money

There are a few CLEAR WINNERS in the money category.

The Slys Heated Chair (Editor’s Choice) is the best bang for your buck. It’s on the lower end of the price range and has all the best features.

The Antarctica Gear Chair (#3 above) is the most affordable option. It has the lowest price and includes a battery.

The Gobi Heat Terrain Chair is the most expensive option. It’s PERFECT for anyone who prioritizes quality and likes to purchase from well-known brands.

Stand Out Features

The individual features of each chair is where the biggest differences shine. Pick a chair with features that stand out to YOU.

Do you want the overall best? Go with our Editor’s Choice Slys.

Want a high back chair that lets you lean back? The Realead is a clear winner.

Do you want a rocking chair? Pick the SunnyFeel.

Want a double chair so you can share? The Antarctica Gear Double Chair is your best option.

No matter which chair you pick, it will be a great piece of camping gear that will bring you warmth and comfort for all your future chilly excursions.
